A.K. Rikk’s
The singular vision for the store was to have an alluring, sophisticated retail space that expresses in architectural language the high quality and finely tailored merchandise that is offered to their clientele. It was important that the interior architecture and retail design provide a composition of vignettes able to feature single brands within the larger context of the store, without detracting from a cohesive identity.
The greatest challenges were related to the irregularities of an existing structure. We went to great lengths to bring existing walls and floors into the new building. Attention to detail required constant vigilance; seemingly small details had a big impact on the architecture as a whole. It was a challenge to incorporate large expanses of glass into the design and still provide enough wall cases and displays. The beauty of the concourse is the result having found the proper balance between the two.
