Visbeen Architect’s senior designer and architect, Matthew Gerard, is responsible for designing and creating meaningful places that inspire clients. With a rich background in architecture and design, Matt brings a wealth of experience and a deep passion for understanding and fulfilling clients' dreams.
Matt holds a Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Detroit Mercy. His professional journey includes pivotal roles as the lead designer for commercial and higher education design. His academic contributions are notable, having served as an adjunct faculty member in architecture at Grand Rapids Community College and the University of Detroit Mercy, and in interior design at the International Academy of Design and Technology.
Licensed as an architect in Michigan, Matt has been recognized for his contributions to the architectural community. He has served on the board of the Grand Rapids Chapter of the American Institute of Architects and previously led an architectural lecture series for AIA GR. Additionally, he has contributed as a writer for EGR Blue.
In his current role, Matt thrives on the collaborative process of understanding clients' desires and dreams to create spaces that transcend mere buildings and become cherished homes. His outstanding skills in design and his ability to connect with clients on a personal level are evident in the successful projects he leads.
Outside of work, Matt enjoys spending time with his wife Denise and their three sons, whether they're involved in youth sports, camping in northern Michigan, or participating in local church activities.
