Wayne E. Visbeen, AIA

Wayne Visbeen has the creative vision and technical skill to bring his clients’ dreams from initial design to built reality. As a licensed architect, Wayne designs residential and commercial projects that are visually stunning and functionally efficient.

He strives for creative solutions to improve every plan, constantly considering how the interior layout impacts the overall architecture. Each detail is weighed, from furnishings and livability to the placement of windows and traffic flow, ultimately creating a cohesive architectural plan that exceeds client expectations.

Architecture interested Wayne from a young age. He attributes his passion for the industry to being surrounded by creativity and construction his whole life. His grandfather, a self-taught architect and builder, spent time building high-end residential projects, and his father owned a construction company in Ridgewood, New Jersey. After spending much of his life on construction sites, Wayne studied architecture at Lawrence Technological University, earning a Bachelor of Science in architecture and a Master of Architecture degree. He then worked as a senior designer at the Taubman Companies, designing over 100 national prototypes for leading retailers nationwide before launching Visbeen Architects in June 1992.

Wayne works directly with clients to brainstorm and create beautiful, buildable projects. His live-design approach allows him to capture real-time input as he sketches conceptual plans tailored to their needs, saving tremendous time and energy for everyone involved.

Wayne is a member of the American Institute of Architects, the International Interior Design Association, and the American Institute of Building Designers. He is also a founder of PAVE Global, a non-profit educational foundation that helps young people pursue careers in the retail design industry. He currently lives between Sarasota, Florida, and Grand Rapids, Michigan. He loves to travel and is inspired by art, design, and the world around him.
