Rhyse Altman • NCARB, MiCNU
Project Designer

Rhyse Altman serves as an Architectural Designer at Visbeen Architects and specializes in traditional residential projects. Altman attended the Illinois-based Judson University, where he earned a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in architecture with a concentration in traditional architecture and urbanism.

Upon graduating, he moved back to his native state of Michigan to serve as an Architectural and Urbanism Consultant with the Village of Kalkaska and assisted in a downtown development strategy and master plan. He then spent two years in Washington D.C. working on historical home projects in Alexandria, Virginia; before joining the team at Visbeen Architects in 2014.

As an Architectural Designer, Altman manages construction documents for different projects and interacts with clients early on in the design process. Altman enjoys the early conceptualization stage and the opportunity to work on finishes when the project is nearing completion.

He is also a member of the Michigan Chapter of the Congress for the New Urbanism, and his graduate thesis on Urban Design and City Hall Proposal for Grand Rapids was featured in the Institute of Classical Architecture & Art’s The Classicist.

Altman currently lives in a 1928-built bungalow in Hudsonville with his wife Jill, and enjoys working on engines or transmissions and playing board games on the weekends.
