This house is located on Lake Huron’s Thunder Bay in Alpena, Michigan. The client’s love of hosting and affinity for cars drove many of the design requirements for this home, including the large number of guest suites, the plethora of entertainment spaces, and the incredible four-car garage with a translucent door system. The homeowners wanted a transitional, modern home featuring glass, clean lines, and open interiors. We positioned this two-level house for outstanding waterfront views, and the rear elevation wraps around the outdoor pool and patio.

A covered hot tub area is directly accessible from the pool and the primary suite. On the other side of the home, a unique bar crafted from the wing of a plane incorporates a NanaWall and Phantom Screens to create a fabulous indoor-outdoor entertainment experience. Behind the garage, enter a hidden 50-foot gun range through a bookcase designed to store guns and ammunition, and the interior stair spirals around a squared tower, looking down onto a glass-roofed wine cellar with a compass detail laid into the floor.
